The visual communications program marked the end of the semester with a reception in the Atrium Gallery in the B Building April 28. The gallery currently displays various graphic artwork students completed during the course of one semester. Wes Smith, Atrium Gallery director, said the display was important because it shows student accomplishments.
One of Brookhaven College's longest-serving professors will retire at the end of this semester. Elaine Gardner-Morales is currently chair of the music program and teaches courses in theory, vocal jazz and music appreciation. Gardner-Morales is also the faculty sponsor and founder of the Brookhaven Jazz Club and is active as a clinician and adjudicator in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

This summer has something in it for everyone: action, thrillers, comedies, chick flicks, horror, family movies and even a few indie films. Personally, indie movies tend to be my favorites, and I'm excited to see a few big names venture into this different yet rewarding genre.
Staying fit during the summer may be a daunting task, but Brookhaven College offers a few ways to help keep those extra pounds off. The Brookhaven athletic equipment room contains various gym equipment, including weights, treadmills and exercise bikes. The athletic equipment is open to any Dallas County Community College District student with a valid DCCCD ID.
