Republican gubernatorial debate

The primaries for Texas Governor are quickly approaching, and the Courier staff suggests taking a close look at the candidates. Under the microscope this time are the Republican candidates. The staff watched the most recent debate among the Republican nominees, and all felt more inclined to vote and partake in the election after doing so.

Obama returns to platform of hope, progress in State of the Union speech

From the way President Barack Obama strode up to the podium, beaming and cheerful, to deliver his first State of the Union address Jan. 27, one could assume things have really been going his way. In contrast to his inaugural address and Nobel acceptance speech, which were both deliberately sober and perhaps gloomy, the State of the Union address was optimistic, defiant and ambitious.

Parties squabble, health care still broken

Change has again occurred on the political landscape in America. This time it is not a Democratic figure leading the change, but the American voting public. Gone is the aspiration of hope, which has transformed to fear and recently to anger. No matter how citizens vote for change there are still issues that remain problematic.
